New Nvidia Tesla GPU Nodes Added

Due to the high demand for GPU-accelerated applications, the BioHPC has added 32 more GPU nodes to the Nucleus cluster, including 16 Nvidia Tesla P4 nodes, 14 Tesla P40 nodes, and 2 dual Tesla V100 nodes. These new cards have been benchmarked and compared to the Nvidia Tesla P100 GPU BioHPC currently in production.

BioHPC Downtime for Large-scale Upgrade (September 13 – 16, 2018)

The BioHPC will be undergoing a large-scale upgrade next month from September 13 - 16. The upgrade will entail:

· An operating system upgrade from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.4

· The addition of 240 compute nodes (each with 32 CPU HT cores, 32 GB RAM)

· 34 new GPU nodes (72 CPU HT cores, 384 GB RAM) equipped with Nvidia P4, P40, and V100 cards

· A new 2.5 petabyte file system added to /project.
